https://www.facebook.com/UniteWomenOn April 28 there will be rallies to protest the War on Women currently taking place in our country. There will be a large march in DC and each state is organizing a march or rally in its capitol to coincide. I'm helping organize the rally/protest in Indianapolis.
This was started by a couple of pissed off women who created a FB page. Over the next couple of days they had thousands of women "liking" it and joining their group. Now it has grown to over 20,000 women and men and it's expanding daily. It's all being done via social media - FB and Twitter and Blogs - and it's growing so quickly that all we state coordinators can do is try to keep up. We're coordinating with NOW and Planned Parenthood at the national and local levels, and they're invaluable for helping us plan and organize. Most of us have never done anything on this scale before, and never dreamed it would grow so large so quick.
***THIS*** is what it's all about, guys!!!
Please consider participating in your state!
Excellent journalism and reporting on the "Marcellus," the 2nd largest natural gas source in the world. It's a huge shale formation that runs under Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and into New York. Pennsylvania is the center of it.
In part one of this NPR piece, two university researchers are highlighted and interviewed: 1 did the calculations which determined how much gas exists in the Marcellus, and another discovered how much shit is forced up through the earth from fracking and the horribly dangerous pollution which is created and which is dumped into our rivers. The first guy has been named a "rock star" by his university. The second guy is now unemployed.
The second half examines a small city in Pennsylvania, Mt. Pleasant, which sits at the epicenter of all of this gas. The dirty rotten games the gas company has played with this small town are sickening. Divide and conquer was their strategy, and they succeeded.
If you can find an hour to listen, you won't regret it.

During Bush Presidency, Current GOP Leaders Voted 19 Times To Increase Debt Limit By $4 TrillionQUOTE
After pushing the government to brink of shutdown last week, Republican Congressional leaders are now preparing to push America to the edge of default by refusing to increase the nation’s debt limit without first getting Democrats to concede to large spending cuts.
But while the four Republicans in Congressional leadership positions are attempting to hold the increase hostage now, they combined to vote for a debt limit increase 19 times during the presidency of George W. Bush. In doing so, they increased the debt limit by nearly $4 trillion.
